Media Academy Program is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to analyze and evaluate media messages together with its social phenomena. The primary goal of the program is to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills in order to help them communicate correctly and effectively by the way of the primary courses of the communication sciences together with the content on interpersonal communication. The program also seeks to provide individuals with the ability to evaluate and produce media content in audio-visual, written and electronic media. 

The Media Academy Education Program is designed to educate individuals who are capable of evaluating their media content socially, politically and ideologically, and creating and publishing content in different media environments in a personal and social sense. For this reason, there are many courses in the progran based on new media, internet technologies, and interactive media models based on it, especially in the fields of media, culture and politics.

Learning Outcomes of the Program

  • To be able to critically and inquisitively evaluate the communication problems, with knowledge and skills acquired in the field of communication.
  • To be able to use the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the field of communication to solve the problems and needs in different environments by finding creative methods.
  • To be able to take responsibility individually and as a team member to solve complex and unforeseen problems in practice.
  • To have theoretical knowledge of verbal and non-verbal communication and to apply the acquired knowledge into practice
  • To be able to inform the relevant person and institutions on the issues related to the field; to be able to explain his/her thoughts and solution suggestions effectively in written and verbal ways.
  • To gain the ability to evaluate and produce media content in audiovisual, written and electronic media.
  • Ability to comprehend, adopt and apply social and cultural responsibilities.
  • To explain the concepts and relations between concepts related to the fields of public relations, advertising, brand communication, marketing communication, persuasive communication, communication management, corporate communication built on the knowledge, skills and competences gained in secondary education in the field of social sciences.
  • To have the ability to identify, explain and solve problems and relations between events and phenomena related to public relations, advertising, brand communication, marketing communication, persuasive communication, communication management, corporate communication fields.
  • Ability to express written or visual ideas in a creative way by transforming them into a film or television project.
  • To be able to design, implement and finalize the production process in electronic media.
  • To have the knowledge of laws, regulations and legislation in the field.
  • To be able to convert written / visual ideas into projects that can be published in electronic media.
  • To be able to analyze media contents with technical, aesthetic and social dimensions.
  • To be able to define the concepts and theoretical framework of social media.
  • To have an idea about possible contributions of social networks to participatory democracy and cultural interaction.
